I have been thinking about sending a PM to every new member I see welcoming them to the site and all that jazz, pointing them in the right direction and giving them a warm welcome. Thoughts?

Hello _________! Welcome to Plime!

Since you're new here I thought I might take the time to show you around. You have already found Plime and began to enjoy its wonders, so I can now direct you to our FAQs. One of our members, DontEatPoop had taken the time to collect from the community questions and answers about Plime, and you can find all them in that link.

We have forums which you are more then welcome to participate in, a great way to meet everyone. You can check them out here! There is a great Chat section for hanging out when you're bored and avoiding work. So dont be shy! Welcome to the site and dont be afraid to ask if you need any help!

Many Welcomes,
Muppetmaker

I'm totally gonna rip that off and save it when I get home, adding my name. I suggest you all do the same, it sounds good.

One problem though, BBCode does not work in private messages.

you should add that if the person is a female they should post topless pics in a thread just to "break the ice" If its a guy.....have him give me a dollar! just a though. alittle evil goes a long way!!

Plime is a pliable tree of interesting links, cultivated and pruned by everyone. Be sure to read the FAQs, they can be found below among the links to the other categories.

Well, then if doesn't work for me. I just sent myself a test message and the code is just written out.

Tito is right. BBCode doesn't work in PMs.

But, you might want to add some information about the sandbox, too.

Huh, that's odd. I know for a fact that I've sent PMs with embedded images that worked just fine.
ETA: I just sent myself a PM with a [url] link in it that worked just fine.

One of the problems is that if everyone does this, a new member will be swamped with 'welcome'. I'd suggest bringing it up with Jax, see how challenging it would be to be have that added to a welcome email when someone joins.

Oh, I wasnt asking everyone one to send it, I was just going to send one when I found a new user that was actually doing a good job and making a decent post or two.

Yeah, me too. I've sent images and they appeared in the quote in the reply and I've sent and received links without a problem.

Maybe we're just special.
