It's never bad advice to just chill out for a while and supress your instinct to just jump in feet first. Read through the some of the news links and comments on the news links, and read through some of the forum threads. This will give you a feel as to how the community works on here.

Also, read the FAQ's that Nicky linked you to.

I have not checked it, personally, but I particularly recommend reading the one part of the FAQ that is about linking to your own stuff etc. We're a little... sensitive concerning that, but I'm sure you'll understand that.

The biggest bit of advice that I can give is to realize that there are a lot of opinions that are going to be stated here. Some may differ from yours and some may be the same.

Don't take it personally. Don't play the victim, and make sure you do your homework before you post or comment.
