Welcome to the tutorial for Plime's very own chat room. It is a grand way to converse with your fellow Plimates in a real time forum. There are many neat features that you may or may not know about, but I will share some useful tips with you.

First, there is a private chat feature. With this feature, you can chat with a specific member that is in the chat room at that time. To do this, simply click on his/her name in the list of names to the right of the chat window.

Then, a new chat will open with that person. It will be represented by a new tab on the left side of the chat window.

EXAMPLE:

You can now chat privately with that Plimate. (NOTE: When you start a private chat with someone, you need to notify them that you want to private chat. The system will not always auto-notify) Also, you can start as many private chats as you like at any time. Each time you click on a name on the chat list, it will open another chat and a new tab will appear on the left of the chat window. You can keep these chats open all the time by not clicking the close button at the top right of the chat window.

Second, there are several different category chat rooms. Once the chat room is open, you can click on any of the categories to the right to open a new chat room for that category.

You will now have both the Plime and new category (Arts, in the following example) open. Also, if you are already in a specific category in the forum or the news section, you will automatically go to that specific chat room when you click on the chat tab.

Keep in mind, however, that these category chat rooms are all open to the community.

Great idea, punthe... we needed an FAQ, of sorts, of the platroom. We seldom see a lot of plimates in the platroom, this would entice them to take a look!

This question is somewhat related, but when did we get the chatroom? Was it here from the start? I didn't notice it until a few months ago.

It was here for a while, but just didn't have it's own tab.

So, in terms of Plime Genesis, it was here on about the 2nd day, and Jax said it was good?

Actually, it was here in the second year after many plimates begged Jax for weeks.

I'd like to add that if you leave your PM rooms open, you can then leave a note for that plimate when they're absent, and they will be able to see it when they re-enter the platroom. Of course, this only works if they leave their PM room open as well...

It's sort of like time delay graffiti.

Second minor addition...If you are in the forums or news sections within a sub-category and click the chat tab, it automatically takes you to the chat for that sub-category. Most often, chat occurs in the plime.com room.

*ehem* The show is continued nightly from 8-1 am EST. Or later depending on the night. ;) The rating changes from pg-13 to R or sometimes NC-17.
