Tips for Tagging Posts! (And other useful stuff)
A good read for new posters! When you post an article, try to follow these guidelines for Tagging! This will help with preventing dupes, while working with our search engine.

As many of us have found out, poor tags are prime cause of the dreaded dupe.

The better the tags, the more likely a post will show up when doing the search to avoid reposting something.

Tag, tag, and tag some more. The dupe you save may be your own!

I'm just tired of the barrage of negative karma anyone is sure to get for not guessing wierd, random tags. We don't need to be so hasty with maligning someones standing on Plime for this.

I usually only remember a title of a post, which makes it difficult to find by searching. It would be helpful if everyone started putting at lease the most obvious words in the title in the tags.

One of the things I noticed about the search engine is that it needs both singular and plural. For example, in MuppetMaker's original post, he has "tags," "FAQS," "Plimates," and "Dupes." The search engine won't call up this article if you just type in "tag" or "dupe."

I could be wrong, but it's worked out that way every time I've tried to search.

Thats true, which is why its helpful to search for both the plural and singular sometimes.

I agree, we are discussing on the forum how it would be nice to lock a post when it gets deleted.

Dont' forget that in the case of 'tag' it wouldn't come up in search anyway. Must be four characters or more.
