Wow, very suprising. Mosquitos and bees I expected, but elephants and hippos? I just I didn't figure that enough people lived in Hippo or elephant areas for them to be that common. I mean, more people die from hippo bites than spider bites ever year? That I did not expect.

Also, I thought Sharks (along with skates and rays) weren't fish, but apparently I was wrong about that, too.

Why aren't humans listed? Pretty sure we're animals too...And cause a few deaths annually.

I've actually been a little fuzzy on it myself. :)

I've always thought that top 10 lists should start with #10 at the top so that we can scroll down to a a climatic finish with #1 at the bottom.
After seeing the mosquito's over 2 million death's per year, seeing the rest was just...blah.

FAF = Fancy Avatar Friday. It's a theme day.

We select the subject through a mostly democratic scramble (everyone shouts about discusses it in a forum thread and then a winner is decided on Thursday).

Come Friday, the idea is that you change your avatar (or decide on one in the first place...) that fits with the theme. Posts related to the topic are encouraged too (although it doesn't have to be exclusively so).

At the moment, Killer Animals is in the lead for this coming Friday, so this post would have slotted right in with that.
