Yep, they usually steal and euthanize lab animals and, occasionally, family pets.

Sure, when other do those things it is unethical. Because they are PETA and the "e" means ethical then it is alright for them to do it.

I believe it. PeTA's been on my s**t list since Ingrid Newkirk released a statement supporting a blanket euthanasia policy for any Pit Bull coming into any shelter in the US.
Not to mention her support of breed bans. I just have no use for them. I'll give my donations to a worthy rescue group, not to a group of nutters.

PETA doesn't want people to have pets. It's really that simple. Their use of scare tactics and underhanded dealings is well documented, and unkind as it may be, I truly use supporting PETA as in IQ test. Caring about animals and supporting this group are a contradiction in terms.

I love animals and hate PETA. With that said, what do people think an organization like this is going to do with 1,000-2,000 animals each year? They rescue animals that are being "tortured" in labs, that will, most certainly, never be able to live a happy monkey, or whatever animal, life.
Where I live there are white-tail deer. Sometimes way to many, and they get hit by cars constantly. Come winter the ones that are alive fight for food and can easily starve to death. So every winter there is a hunting season, many families here rely on deer for meat for the entire year. If PETA had it their way, they would capture, house, and eventually euthanize for population control.
If you see a lost dog on the side of the road, and you are allergic, but caring enough to pick it up, but unable to keep it, you take it to a shelter. The minute that dog becomes property of the shelter, it is more likely to die via injection than any other cause. If they didn't kill animals no one wants or cannot take care of, animal shelters would need be the size of the Pentagon, and cost just as much to run.
Animal control, domestic and wild, is not a fun business. But there is no other way to deal with this problem yet. Its sad, but unavoidable.

I do agree with you to a certain extent...but for an organization thats so hyped up and totally against zoos even HAVING animals, they seem to be very hypocritical to me. What gives them the right to judge other organizations that care for animals?

What gives them the right to judge other organizations that care for animals? You are right, and I said I hate PETA, but dont confuse things done in PETA's name with things that PETA promotes. This is their website mission statement: PETA focuses its attention on the four areas in which the largest numbers of animals suffer the most intensely for the longest periods of time: on factory farms, in laboratories, in the clothing trade, and in the entertainment industry. We also work on a variety of other issues, including the cruel killing of beavers, birds and other "pests," and the abuse of backyard dogs.
They may do more than that, but those are the real issues that need addressing.
