What Bird is That? Posted: 9 months ago by chinook
See a bird and have no clue what it is? This website is a fantastic search engine for wild birds and guides you through choosing its shape, colour, habitat and call and helps you identify the bird!

I find this site super useful and always refer to it when I venture out of my province.

I was using this website this moring to listen to red-winged blackbirds and white-throated sparrows. I really miss the summer forest right now, but that's probably because it's snowing so hard outside.

Nice tool, I'm always seeing strange birds in my yard. This weekend my husband said he saw a bird out in the back that "has a long beak". But of course, he couldn't say if it was a heron or a snipe! With this site, we can narrow it down, and perhaps marvel at how a beach bird or desert bird got to our 1800 foot suburb!

I just wish it had photos rather than drawings, but it is still a great site!
