A 150-pound cougar was gunned down by Chicago police Monday after it was loose in a residential area on the city's North Side. (Story includes photo of the cougar walking right behind a policeman)

I don't think it was a wild animal. My guess, someone had this as a pet, and it got loose. Tragic, stupid, senseless.

Yeah, wild cats don't tend to wander highly populated areas unless they're really sick- they get freaked out by the noise.
