So I guess "Fresian" bulls don't have horns? I couldn't tell if they were sawed off or something.

He was probably dehorned as a calf, that's normal practice in Britain and Ireland. In Ireland at least it's illegal to sell cattle with horns as they're dangerous.
On another note: He's NOT a bull, he's a BULLOCK (AKA steer, castrated male bovine). That's why he's so big, entire bulls never grow to that size, but bullocks grow bigger (something to do with hormones).
In another story (I think it was the DailyMail site) he was called a bullock in one paragraph and a heifer in another!!! WTF!! A heifer is a young female cow which has not had a calf!!! Stupid journalists.....

The cow that was standing next to him with the white face was a beef cross, perhaps half friesan/half angus but not a fair comparison to put there next to him.

Dairy cows are a bit taller than beef sometimes.

Here is my daughter a few yrs back with our Limosine cross.

He weighed 1300+ but was pretty short. His name was Tyson.

Looks to me like a Friesian/Hereford cross (Angus crosses are usually nearly all black) It's true that Holstein Friesians are usually taller than beef cattle. Beef cattle tend to be small and chunky.

Ah yes, the hereford. That is the one I was trying to remember. My brother in law used to raise them and they looked exactly like that. White face gives em away. We had a red one named Sugar Ray.

We went thru a prize fighter phase for names...Tyson, Sugar Ray.

Then we had Big Ben (after the Steelers) Mr Beefy from Little Nicky.

My favorite was a lamb my daughter raised. We named her Clarice. From Silence of the Lambs. Are the lambs still screaming, Clarice??

Yeah, my kids are weird.
