I did have to look it up, but no - the ones in Arachnophobia were <a class="plime" href="/redir.p?http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avondale_spider" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Avondale Spiders</a>.<br/><br/><b>NB</b> - That link goes to a wikipedia page which has a picture of an Avondale spider on it.
