African Lion on the loose - in Colorado Springs
African Lion on the loose - in Colorado Springs
It was spotted today chasing some unfortunate neighborhood dogs. Officials thought it was a mountain lion until residents obtained photos. YOW! picked by Moe 5 months ago

It emerged from your butt while you were asleep.

The photo with the article is less than illuminating.

Maybe he's just looking for some courage.

Seems like a good time to resurrect this old favourite:

What I don't understand is that the division of wildlife says they confirm it's african not mountain lion tracks - other than that "nbd - everything is cool - probably a dog"

WHA?!

Check the timeline--the statement that the prints were not from a mountain lion came prior to the suspicion that it's a dog.

At one point in the search, some residents strapped on revolvers, while others searched on horseback with lassos at the ready, according to the Gazette.
Yes, when you hear of a loose African Lion, by all means the smart thing to do is jump up on a prey animal and try to lasso the cat. I think we might see a Darwin Award from Colorado Springs in the coming year...

It's quite obvious that what we see here is Bigfoot's pet.

Nah, even better-- tie a piece of raw steak to the back and see how long you can get it to chase you.

...Then, hit the breaks really hard and keep your video camera handy.

About 6 years ago, Atlanta had a male african lion running around. They later found out a gang bought him from the black market and used him as their mascot. He was kept in a condemned building and he somehow escaped.

Maybe these guys are copy cats in Colorado?

I live in Colorado Springs, if I see it I'll be sure to wrestle to the ground and kill it with my teeth and bare hands.

I'll post pics.

If anybody else lives in Colorado Springs, make sure to take/post photos of T1000 being ripped limb from limb by a gigantic lion.

Haha.

Seriously? ME TOO!!

And for anyone else that is not aware, Colorado Springs has a fairly large zoo, and that is probably where the lion came from.

That's the only reasonable explanation, though apparently all lions are accounted for...so who knows? It's probably just a large mountain lion.

I live in the Springs too and, well-

*sigh*

Aw hell. I really should own up to it. It's my lion, guys. I was taking him out for a ride, and he was all, "Hey it's my turn to drive!" So I got out to let him slide over and he was like, "Sucker!!" and drove off in my car. I found it three hours later as I was walking home (dammit I had to walk home! stoopid cat). It was overturned in a ditch with two flat tires and lion whiz all over the front seat. I hate that cat. He was driving with a suspended license too, the b*****d.
