so i'm bored. here's the deal: send me your photograph, and i'll make a drawing of it, in french gray (sepia tone-like) markers on bristol board. your choice of stippling or multiple outlines (sorry, can't direct link the examples here). the photo you send be can be of yourself, your significant other, your kids, your relatives, your pets, your favorite animal, something like that.
though, i have a few limits ...
--once my college classes start on may 27, i may not be able to do these portraits after then, so get the photos in now.
--i want the best quality photo you can get me: high resolution, good cropping, clear contrast, sharp focus, all that. i won't work with bad references. likewise, if you want me to do your favorite animal or celebrity, don't expect me to find a picture of it myself. i'm not going through the whole thing of stippiling a blue-footed boobie, to then be told you wanted the OTHER kind. the highest resolution pic with the best light/dark contrast, the easier time i'll have making the drawing, as well as a better drawing it'll become.
--there can be multiple people/animals in the photo. i prefer to do closeups, so i might edit the photo somewhat to bring the faces closer together.
--though it's your choice, i'm a lot faster at doing multiple outline portraits, than stipple portraits.
--i can't and won't do every request that comes my way. so, the most compelling and best quality photo you give me, the more i'm likely to accept your request.
--i'm doing this as a free favor, but if you want the original bristol artwork, or an incredibly high resolution scan of it, i'll trade ya for it.
any takers?

i'm only charging if you want the original portrait on bristol; otherwise, i'll scan it to a post-size picture or similar and show that for free. to get the actual portrait, i'll charge. doesn't have to be money; i'll negotiate on it when it gets to that.
what i've linked to in "stippling" and "multiple outlines" is what i've done. those are my only examples, though ... i'm hoping this project will help me expand my portfolio.

« Jerry520 : Here's my picture, I'd appreciate it if you used that. If not, then there's the one below it. :D neither of them will work well ... the first one has a bunch of photoshop filters on it, killing off a lot of detail, and the second is kind of blurry, and both are a little too small - they look big enough on a webpage, but when printed, they'll be too small for me to work with.
do you have the original, unedited file for either of them? and, what style did you want me to do?

Is this the kind of picture you had in mind?
I have one of my wife (that I am not posting) that I've wanted made into a drawing for a long time. But I like this one of Eli too.

« blurmore : Is this the kind of picture you had in mind? now THAT'S the kind of photographic quality i like! it being taken in black and white also helps my process along. if you can give me the same pic but in much higher resolution, i can get started on it right away.
« blurmore : I have one of my wife (that I am not posting) that I've wanted made into a drawing for a long time. But I like this one of Eli too. you can PM or email me the pic/image address to me instead, same with the larger resolution of Eli. i think my email adress is in my profile ...

Can there be two people in the photo? Can they be naked?
Edited to add: What's the maximum number of people that can be in the photo, but most importantly is there a minimum or maximum naked/not-naked ratio?

Edited to add: What's the maximum number of people that can be in the photo, but most importantly is there a minimum or maximum naked/not-naked ratio? well, i haven't thought about the amount of people in a picture ... i guess that'll depends on the format of the photo. i'm limited on bristol boards to work with.
and, um, i also didn't think about nudes. are you messing with me, or are you serious?

This is of me and my best friend that passed away in March. I would love to see this stippled but if it is easier to do the multiple outlines that is okay too. I would love to barter or pay for the original. I have a nice frame that I have been waiting to put the perfect pic of the two of us and I think this would be awesome.
Hope this pic is okay. Let me know (if you're able to get to it) if you need another pic.
If two people are too much, just her head would be great. She is the one in the white sweater.

cheeselog1234: i kinda goofed a bit on the eyes and mouth. my bad.
jerry520: i have restructured your teeth and given you a birth mark by your nostril. because i said so.
dollyllama: i have PM'd you your super ultra secret portrait that Hoosker wasn't supposed to know about.
clscott645: both of you in one stipple will be fine. :) though, as is, that pic is quite small. do you still have the original hi-res version? i usually crop refferences to focus on the faces/heads anyways, so don't worry about what filesize it is.
to everyone else i haven't addressed yet who wanted a portrait: i haven't started the stipple projects yet, but they're going to take me a long longer to do, though i don't remember exactly how long it took me to do the first one. it could be at least two weeks each piece, depending on how much time each day i spend on it, and how anal-retentive i get on the finer details.
it took me about twenty minutes each to do cheeselog's, jerry's, and dollyllama's multi-line portraits, on 100lb-press cardstock. cardstock which i paid 3 dollars for 500 sheets, that is nearly identical in both smoothness and thickness to my 11x14in bristol board, that i paid 10 dollars for 15 sheets. go figure ...

For stippling, if possible.
This is my grandmother's cat, whom she loved dearly and passed away this year.
I know it's not the best picture...
Here's another one, but obviously, I wouldn't want the hand/arm just hanging there...
Third times the charm, probably the best of the lot:
