I think there's a difference between a typo and a grammar error. I often make typos, because I hurry and don't reread as carefully as I should.

I think only people interested in grammar will look at this thread and it will be ignored by most of the people who will make many grammar mistakes, but I have nothing against the idea of this thread.....

But we could always nudge people gently in this direction.

My pet peeve-

Lose and Loose.

Drives me nuts. I even see it not used properly in newspaper articles.

Nother. I hate nother and it is used everywhere. I have heard it in television, on the streets, in the news.

Example: Oh, wait until I tell you about what happened to me the other day, that is a whole NOTHER story.

No, no, and NO.

Oh, wait until I tell you about what happened to me the other day, that is whole OTHER story.

« LeehBlanc : Ah, I've been thinking of starting this thread myself. One that I see EVERYWHERE recently is "should of" or "would of" It's SHOULD HAVE OR WOULD HAVE!!!! Of course, this comes from imbeciles hearing the spoken contractions should've and would've (pronounced most often as shood uf and wood uf) and then typing what they hear. I don't know why, but this one makes me want to reach through the computer and choke someone. A moment's thought would tell you it's wrong.

"Did she empty the dishwasher"?
"She should've" (She should have)
"She should of" (?????)
I wonder if this is just sarcasm or the case you were talking about:

Funny, but I hadn't seen that. I read a few different Apple forums, and THAT is where I saw it the most
