I sincerely hope that is just a joke! Oh my gosh! That is a scary and highly uncomfortable looking contraption. "Have a happy period. Always" Not with that thing!

all i could stand to see of that website was most of it's illustrations of the thing. i didn't dare to read any of it.

i thought tampons and maxi pads were alternatives to each other. how could combining them make it any more effective for menstration? that's like ... mixing creamy peanut butter with crunchy peanut butter, to make a better peanut butter.

besides that .. tampons scare me, as the idea is to shove this foreign object deep inside my hoo-haw to absorb bodily fluids. that ... THING will have the tampon part much lower, at the wider opening of the body; so it's overall less effective than a normal tampon, so making a pad needed to pick up what the psuedo-tampon misses. since i'll be technically using a maxi pad ANYWAYS, so i'll just stick with my regular maxis that doesn't have an identity crisis.

Weird, pads scare me.

They just seem so unhygenical and gross. Like, it all goes on there and then what; does it get all over everything down there? Pads are horrifyingly gross and seem almost medieval to me.

Tampons are just so much simpler, cleaner, easier, less gross, and more comfortable (really, you CAN'T feel them unless you don't put them in correctly). I sometimes forget if I have one in and have to check; they're just that comfy.

I agree, totally.

Some times, you need to use both. I don't want to go into it, cos, y'know, ew, but very heavy flow requires both.

Only if it included this vibrating tampon. I was saving this post for another day, but it answers your comment too well.

The tampon unit was placed in the posterior fornix so as to be located near the utero-sacral ligaments and the Frankenhaüser plexus.
I love it when they talk dirty.

heh, to each their own. it took me some years, but i found the right type of pad that avoids most of what you fear. though, i can't say much for the medievil feeling of it .. but i'd bet it's nearly completely different than what the medievil menstrating women had to use.

i don't intend to change your mind about tampons, but here's my greatest fears about them: you don't see the same warnings about toxic shock syndrome on maxi pads as you do tampons. as well as warnings about vaginal wall damage and the string breaking off before you get it out. once all of those things happens, you need a doctor.

i don't mind a little mess, overall. just wear black shorts when aunt flo is in town. again, to each their own, and its you and me that are the reasons why both products seem to be equally popular and necessary.

Because you're not uncomfortable enough with the cramps, bloating, binge eating, general idiocy of the population before during and after and having to put either a mattress or a pogo stick somewhere between your legs they've now combined those last two options to add that last bit of discomfort that was missing all these years. Oh, if only they would have added a belt (if you're not old enough to remember belts, be glad).
