Man mistaken for a terrorist while reading a book about a man mistaken for a terrorist.
Man mistaken for a terrorist while reading a book about a man mistaken for a terrorist.
Define Irony: A man was asked to leave a pub after other patrons were paranoid about the book he was reading titled "The Unknown Terrorist." The book is about a man who is mistaken for a terrorist and subjected to a witch hunt of paranoia and false perceptions. picked by Fizz71 12 months ago

This happened to me once with "Everybody Poops." I was promptly asked to leave the bathroom section of Home Depot.

If I was an Unknown Terrorist I'd totally read a book called The Unknown Terrorist in a dance club full of people in plain view, but obviously try to hide half of my face with the book so that no one could tell if I was actually a terrorist or not.

There seriously has to be a better word for stupid.

And that picture is probably for the article, I don't know any people that can read a book while looking over the top of it. Also, I am not trying to be argumentative, but if you see someones whole face you can tell if they are a terrorist? Do you have "unknown terrorist vision"?

That is ironic indeed.

I may have to read this book now, though.

You know, a cynical person would bring up the possibility that this was a staged event.

Viral advertising works very well.

Businesses also pay normal people (as in non-actors) to talk up the product to drum up interest.

Paying people to act the way they did is certainly possible. Look at how many people want to read the book now.

I mean this just happen to occur with a new book?

No, I would bet you that the whole thing was staged

I thought that too..especially the part about how the book was left easy to see after he walked away. But either way...I don't believe the RESULT was staged..set up maybe, but not completely staged. I can certainly see it happening (the being escorted out portion).
