I can see that happening with a [possibly] partially senile old man, but what an incredibly dumb kid.

Yeah, I was wondering why the kid didn't say "Hey, creepy old guy, I don't know you!" Instead, he rides on this bike with a total stranger all the way "home". ???

well, apparently 4 year olds cannot be trusted to say something so they aren't taken by the wrong person...the real fools here are the teachers that weren't paying attention
looks like a harmless wake-up call, who knows, maybe some disastrous "mix up" is prevented by this whole ordeal
yep, I'm in a great mood, so I can see the positive side of things today :)

Spread that joy! Now onto my comment....
A few weeks ago, I was talking to my daughters about strangers and such. I asked them what a stranger was...they gave the right answer--someone you don't know!--yipppeee--then I asked what they would do if a stranger told them he had some puppies, and would they like to see them. My 10 year old said she would run. Woohoo we are on a roll. 7 year old says she would go see the puppies. Scary isn't it. We talked at length about what to do. I hope my little girl remembers. I hope it never comes up! This was a "harmless" mix up. And I hope all involved(teachers included) keep it fresh in their minds.

My sister is religious about preaching to the kids about what to do when approached by a stranger. She was so confident that she volunteered her daughter to participate in a TV news feature in cooperation with the police department. A male officer in plain clothes and his personal vehicle approached my niece and a friend at the bus stop and said he had injured a neighborhood cat and asked them to help find the owner. Yep, they went straight to his car.
Regardless of what they have been taught, kids are inherently brainless and can't be depended on to do what's right.

Am I seeing a pattern in the state that welcomes everyone to carry a gun? Why didn't the kid just shoot the old man?
