I've learned to sleep next to a chihuahua. At first, 10+ years ago, I was terrified of rolling on top of her in my sleep.

More than 10 years later, I haven't smothered the lovable little b***h (well, she isn't really a b***h, having been spayed, but it's still fun to call her one) because:

- I am cognizant that the dog is there; even though I'm sleeping, we accommodate each other;

- I don't get so stupidly out of my senses that I don't know where my body is, or what it's on.

Extending that to a mother that could cause her own child's death by chemically-induced carelessness... that's just horrible, and very, very punishable.

The only maybe-happy aspect to this story is that maybe the l'il baby boy is now in a better place than the one into which he was born.

I KNEW THAT BEATIFUL BABT BOY I GROW UP WITH HIS MOM.WHO WOULD OF THOUGHT THAT NIGHT WOULD BE THE LAST TIME ANYONE SEEN HIM.SHE MAD A STUPID CHOICE YES BUT KNOW ONE HAS WALKED IN HER SHOES. SHE WAS SICK AND THAT MORNING SHE WAS GOING TO TRY TO GET BETTER.SOMETIMES THE NEXT DAY IS TO LET.SHE LOVED HER CHILDREN VERY MUCH AND SHE DID THE BEST SHE KNEW HOW TO WITH AN ILLNESS THAT TAKES OVER YOUR LIFE.SHE DIDNT BEAT HER CHILDREN OR LET THEM GO WITH OUT.WHEN SHE WAS DRUNK SHE DIDNT KNOW WHAT WAS GOING ON AROUND HER.LIKE SO MANY OF US!!!NOW SHE HAS TO LIVE WIT HERSELF FOR THE REST OF HER LIFE KNOWING HER CHILD DIED BY HER OWN HAND.WHEN SHE AWOKE IN JAIL SHE DIDNT EVEN KNOW WHAT WAS GOING ON.SHE WONT BE AT HIS FUNRAL AND THE LAST MEMORY SHE WILL HAVE OF HER BABY WILL BE RIGHT BEFORE SHE PASSED OUT ON HIM.SO SAY WHAT YOU WANT BECAUSE NO ONE WILL MAKE HER FEEL AS BAD AS SHE WILL FOR THE REST OF HER DAYS ON THIS EARTH.AND AS TO SOME OF YOU AND YOUR COMMENTS GROW UP.THIS COULD BE YOU OR YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS WE ALL MAKE MISTAKES SOME WORSE THEN OTHERS BUT STILL NO BETTER.WE HAVE LOST TWO WONDERFUL PEOPLE IN THIS. Depressingly it's in Marion County which is where I live.
Sad that she was only one day from going into rehab.
But I hope she has remorse for the rest of her days.
