This happens in all work places from time to time, I know, but this one is more than a little peculiar. Usually the theft has to do with lunches, and on very rare occassions the thief is after money. Of course, whenever we bust the thieves, they are immediatley fired. We haven't busted this one yet.
But here are two instances of thievery that are apparently the same person. The thief in question is taking money from coats in the coat closet. In the first case fifteen dollars were in the coat, but only the five was taken. Weird? A litte, considering that both bills were in a wad. But still not nearly as strange as the following issue. There was a ten in the coat... The thief took the ten, bought whatever they bought, and returned seven dollars. They're making change? Is it some attempt at honesty? It reminds me of borrowing money from mom.
Any weird thievery stories from you?Possibility there were 2 similar coats and someone reached into the wrong coat thinking it was there own? I have occasionally found money in the pocket of a coat, and not recalled putting it there. Just spray some of this (I'd use the detection spray) on some money, put it in a coat pocket (might make sure it’s the only coat in the closet with money), and stand back. After it disappears, ask for a show of hands. Don't you just love modern technology?
Incidently, I once worked on a golf course (a fairly nice one), where someone had stolen the hole number sign. Which was odd because the thing was probably three feet by four and carved out of an inch-thick slab of marble. No telling how much it weighed or how they got past the pro shop to the parking lot without being seen with it. Souvenir, anyone?

Any weird thievery stories from you?If you were to write a note and put it in your coat pocket, anyone going through them looking for cash would be sure to find it... Particularly if the same note was in every pocket in the closet. Write something that would make him/her feel as if they're being watched or everyone knows who the thief is.
