‘I have to tell you, we’ve had some complaints about public displays of affection, and we’re a family restaurant. We can’t accept it, and we won’t accept it.’
This is pure bullsh!t! I can't, in my own mind, believe there is not some Supreme Court precedent set when this ends at trial.
Doesn't sound like they were doing anything appalling, and I'll bet that IHOP doesn't throw out straight couples for a similar "violation" of their policy.
That said, I'd just like to add that there are some areas in our country that would be more difficult to live in than others if you're gay. Bet the IHOP situation wouldn't have happened in the west coast states.
So if I kiss one of my girlfriends at this IHOP (and I'm not gay) they would throw me out?? This is really outrageous! They should get free pancakes there for life!
They should try that in Holland. No way it'd be possible to throw out a lesbian couple. Like all discrimination things this will take a while and then there'll be laws banning the discrimination. At least that's what I expect.
