Frankly, I don't think it's really that painful.

I'm with you on that. I haven't heard any complaints about it. Maybe they should survey those who have had lethal injections and see if any of them believed it was too painful.

If you're cruel and sick enough to order someone to die, why is caution taken to ensure their death isn't painful?

I think that is just about the dumbest thing since sterilizing the area they are going to use to inject the thing...

We don't want you to die of some sort of infection you might get from the rusty needle we are using, but from the liquid we are about to inject you with!

i could honestly care less about the person being executed and if they are in any pain. aren't most people executed because they killed someone else? i doubt they took that into account when they murdered their victims.

Well that settles it then. Even if the inmate wakes up to an excruciating death, he won't remember it.

I highly doubt the comfort and care of the victims was paramount in the convict's priorities.

i feel that the pain and suffering that they caused their victims should be the same for the person on death row. and in the view of the public. this would stop alot of crime and violence.

these bleeding heart libs and their "oh now we cant kill a mass murderer even though he took so much from others and cause so much pain and suffering from others we should treat him like a kid adn just slap them on the wrist and say dont do it again johnny"

I'm for this only if they use a dull blade. A guillotine with a good blade is still too quick and painless.

A flat blade would do the same thing. The guillotine was first invented witha horizontal blade, and even if it was sharp it didn't always do the trick so an axe was required (lovely!).

It wasn't for a bit that someone figured out that a blade that was tilted was more effective.

I don't remember specifics, as it's been a long time since I discussed guillotines (and the French Revolution).

Maybe a handsaw would be better?

i am all for the hand saw , and for the middle east comment, these are people who killed and maimed babies, entire families, and someones kid, if your family or child was killed i think your views would be a little different, this is America we do not kill people for senseless s**t like they do in the middle east, we only kill child molesters and murderers. and those people deserve what they get.

why are people so against the death penalty , i had rather have them removed from society than pay for them to have 3 hots adn a cot for the rest of their life, i dont get that guaranteed to me, i have to work and make my hard earned money last, pay rent, bills, gas for my car, i have my own s**t to take care of. i have to support my world of warcraft addiction !!! and internet (although it is almost free since i work as a telecomm engineer for a rather large cable company.
