Detectives say the bus driver had left the bus with the door closed momentarily to gather the students who were running late. While the driver was away, Allen reportedly got on the bus. The victim followed, in order to get a seat to go home. That is when Douse and Williams served as lookouts while Allen raped the victim until other students boarded the bus.
Students shouldn't get on a bus without a driver either. If there wasn't a driver, I wouldn't have gotten on the bus in the first place. I am not excusing the reprehensible behavior, just commenting on the situation. The victim will never feel safe on a bus again.
Also, the guy had lookouts, which meant is was likely pre-meditated. Throw the book, the chair, the bench, at this guy.

Since the attacker was 18, he should be tried as an adult. Then he'll know how it feels when Bubba comes to visit him in the Grown Up jail.

Don't be so quick to crucify the bus driver, guys.
On the morning of the rape, before it occurred and before he even got on the bus, the football player had decided that he was going to rape the girl. He is a rapist. He chose his victim. He was going to rape her at some point or another. It didn't matter whether it was that morning on the bus, or two nights later, under the bleachers after football practice. He was going to rape her.
Rape isn't a spontaneous crime.
People these days are far too quick to place blame on innocent people like the bus driver. The only person was responsible for this was the loser rapist pond scum football player.

It was clearly set up ahead of time if the rapist had others be his lookouts. He would have to know they were as vile as he was to be willing to do that.
