Elisabeth Fritzl: I never want to see Josef again
Elisabeth Fritzl: I never want to see Josef again
Elisabeth Fritzl, the woman held captive by her sadistic father for 24 years has spoken about her ordeal with her reunited family and has vowed she never wants to see her father's face again.

It's good to hear they're doing fairly well. picked by jhordie 2 months ago

What an elaborate and sordid case this is. I don't think she will ever have a "normal" life, but at least she is free now. There will be a special place in prison for her "father". I use quotes, simply because I don't think he deserves such a title.

Ya' think? I mean...wouldn't it be weirder if she DID want to see him again?

I think her concept of normal is different than mine. She's probably hoping more that her kids get a better shot at a normal life than much for herself.

I feel bad for the kids. Think what's going to happen to them when they try to integrate? And what about the daughter that was in the hospital? Has she gotten better?

Instinctively you'd think so, but Stockholm Syndrome was potentially on the cards here.

That's awful--but maybe it means he gets more prison time.

I can't imagine how that former tenant feels, knowing that his dog barked, and was trying to communicate something to him. :(

Yes, I hope no one is blowing sunshine up her butt that she will be "normal" one day.

All abuse victims have changes in their psyche that NEVER EVER go away. Severely abused children have "foreshortened future". They have been held so close to death for so long that they have no concept of the future! "What do you want to be when you grow up?" "Alive.."

The remainder of her days may look like the average life of most people, but in the dark, the psychological damage will come out and wreak havoc on her mind and soul, waking and sleeping. This stress alone could kill any of them, at any time...

It IS an elaborately horrifying case. No solution is good enough, or bad enough.
