Wow, I didn't realize I was so good at this. Comfy chair (not the comfy chair!) earplugs, eye mask, got the breathing down, light blankie.. Holy wah, I'm a nappin' mac!

Ah naps....do you think if I show this to my son, he will be convinced to take them again? I am all for it! I love a good nap.

Anytime I try to take a nap, where I set my alarm for 30 minutes or so, I focus too much on the fact that the alarm will go off soon, and I have trouble drifting asleep.

Laying down without having to wake up at any specific time, no problem, though I tend to sleep an hour or two then.

You might want to try the mp3s in this blog about polyphasic sleep.

The idea of polyphasia interest me, but I think it would be too impractical to really work. However, that's a bit of an aside. The reason I link is that those mp3s are designed to help you sleep for a limited period without the use of an alarm clock.

I've used them quite a lot (and keep them on my mp3 player, just in case) and would recommend them if you want to nap but have troubles doing it.

The one minor thing I'd warn you of is that if you wake before the end, it's very disconcerting to sleep and wake up again with certain clues about the passage of time take from you.

As you never remember going to sleep it is almost as if the time has just disappeared.

Amen, brother. All my sleep revolves around thinking about waking up.
