The benefit of boat shoes is you can wear them without socks and they still look good.

« Maven : When you say completely cover, what about something like Keens Ventura's? Socks optional, very comfortable, cooler than full shoes, easily cleaned. I'm a fan of most Keen shoes--they have a wide selection, and yeah, might be a tad pricy, but they last.
By law, you are not supposed to wear any shoes that exposes any part of the foot (toes, heal, etc). So any sandal type shoe is out.

SAS(San Antonio Shoemaker)Shoes. There are factory outlet stores all over Texas. And if you come down to San Antonio anytime in the near future, there's one on IH35 right next door to Garden Ridge Pottery as you're coming into town. These shoes are built for comfort and you can be on your feet all day and still keep on going. Several styles and colors. I highly recommend them.

An aside to the male members of the site:

No matter how much you work out, you do not have attractive knees. Therefore, if you wear shorts, please wear them slightly below the knee. Unless you like looking like Richard Simmons.
