His mom was a little over the top too. I was kicked by a horse when I was 11, broke my hand in five places (couple ribs too). My mom wouldn't even believe it was broken. Two weeks later, she finally took me to the doctor and it had grown back together kind of funny. Still works though. She most certainly wasn't crying over the fact that I couldn't do my homework with that hand... Of course I was back riding one handed the next day...
