Well he could have just sent the kid outside...

At my kids' school, they would have been sent to the office, and parents or legal guardians called. Most kids in this situation decide they are better off behaving than making their mom or dad have to come get them, thus insuring a much worse punishment when they get home.

... thus the number of quality teachers dwindle and our country leans toward idiocracy. I fear for our future generations.

I'm not saying this teacher's right or wrong just saying stories like this serve to dissuade any people from pursuing a teaching career (among other reasons).

Though I really do agree with you on this, I think it's also true that some of those who would give up a high salary and are willing to endure such ridiculous school boards, would also make the very best teachers.
