Ok I just returned from seeing the Dark Knight and can say that it was very good. Of course there will be much praise from the media over Ledger's portrayal of The Joker, and it will be almost entirely deserved. He is completely psycho, unbalanced, and horrible and he is completely menacing. Bale once again admirably dons the cape and mask, but make no mistake: Ledger makes this good movie a great one.

I know with a movie like this there needs to be the willing suspension of disbelief, and it is possible with Batman. We understand that Batman is actually Bruce Wayne the billionaire and has virtually unlimited financial and technological resources. But for me I did have issues with this aspect of the Joker. How does the Joker accomplish all these feats? I know the Joker is not motivated by money, but how does he finance his operations? In the movie he claims that gasoline and gunpowder are cheap, but in the quantities he used them he would still need a lot of money to pull it off. If the Joker had taken some money from the mob, then I would not have had any problems.
Thats all I'll say. If you've seen it send up your review!

This movie was amazing. It absolutely lived up to it's hype for me. Bale was great as always (and yes, I will say as always, his 'Batman' voices needs a little getting used to) but Ledger, omg... I had my issues at the very beginning with him portraying the Joker; but man he pulls it off... he f**king OWNED that role. His character is a maniac and HILARIOUS. I laughed throughout the whole movie. I was so giddy and hyper at the end.
Another notable performance was that of Aaron Eckhart, Harvey Dent was very well played. The special effects on him were amazing as well.

Oh and another thing, the music in this movie is absolutely brilliant! There are scenes where the score gets so loud that it really immerses you in the film.

Ah I'm no big fancy writer so I'm going summarize this like so: MOVIE IZ GOOD GO WATCH NOW KTHXBAI!

I also have serious issues with the "Batman" voice. It totally takes me out of the movie every time he uses it. :(

Overall, this movie was amazing! I could pick nits forever, of course, but I won't, because I'd like to keep that image of the Joker making a pencil disappear pristine in my mind for as long as possible!

I just came home from watching this. Oh my God.....Oh my God. Best movie ever. The pencil, the "You wanna know how I got this scar?" bit, Harvey Dent, Batman, Gordon, The Joker's awesomely funny (and ultimately deadly) slapstick humor. It's all amazing. There were points that as I watched, I was left in awe of The Joker's beautifully manic and chaotic thought pattern. I love this movie. The ending was brilliant.

GO SEE NOW!

Three things:

The introduction of the Batpod = Flawless.

The Joker is the ultimate villain, and Ledger pulled it off. The future Batman films cannot exist with out the Joker. No way. Now only one man in my opinion can take on the role and live up to the standard... Mark Hamill.

Acting was amazing, the world was real, and the writers managed to pull into the film that odd and quirky, yet deadly humor that is the Joker. It really worked well.

I also loved The Joker's gaunt. He had an amazingly odd walk, and a way about him that I don't think is going to be recaptured. Even down to the simplest of mannerisms, all in all an amazing performance.

I agree that Heath did a job that would be damned near impossible to mimic, but Mark Hamill is the only man I want to see, or can see replacing him.

It's almost like they should have opened up the movie with the Joker stealing 68 Million dollars from the mob or something...

I absolutely loved this movie, but as long as we're picking it apart here's my complaint:
Why the hell did Two-Face speak so clearly when he was obviously missing half of his mouth. No slurring, no drooling, no nothing, and that would have made him so much more menacing.

Arclight is awesome. I wish they had them up here in the bay area. What a cool theatre, totally worth the extra money.

Alright, so seeing as how Chez told me she won't be my friend anymore unless I see the movie, I'll be in the movie theater at exactly 3:45pm today, doing just that.

It better live up to all this hype!

But he burns it all. If they showed him keeping some for his nefarious plan, then no problem.

That was the money he got from the mafia, via the chinese dude. He also burned the chinese dude, he was on the pile of money. Did anyone else notice that?

I thought that was the chinese guy on top. And yes, he was talking to the mobster and he mentioned that this was his 'half' of their returned money. The amount that he demanded during the amazing pencil vanishing trick.

He may not want money, but he does so love his gasoline... and knives.

The part that I'd have to nitpick is... Why are they putting the fat guy into a cell WITH the joker? Wouldn't he get his own cell? And how is it that nobody noticed his stomache when they brought him in, patted him down, searched him for weapons?
