I'm with Chez. If you were closer I'd go with you!

I read and loved Fight Club, and loved the movie. I read and really liked Choke, and I think that they cast Victor really well, so I'm excited to see how Sam Rockwell does with it. Personally, I thought the book was pretty damned funny, and it's nice to read a book that actually surprises me, as most of Palahniuk's do. (It helps that I have a friend who has already seen it and said it was fantastic.)

I'll definitely be seeing it, why is everyone so against it? The writer is awesome, it seems funny, and it won at Sundance, that's good enough for me.

Which old lady? Anjelica Huston? She plays his mom.

Victor Mancini is a medical-school dropout who has devised an ingenious scam to pay elder care for his Alzheimer's-afflicted mother: he pretends to choke on pieces of food while dining in upscale restaurants. He then allows himself to be "saved" by fellow patrons who, feeling responsible for Victor's life, go on to send checks to support him. When he's not pulling this stunt, Victor cruises sexual addiction recovery workshops for action, visits his addled mom, and spends his days working at a colonial theme park.
And why didn't I think of that plot?

Oh yeah, because it's !$!#$!@# stupid!

How does crap like this get produced?

An Ad should deliver enough content to get people interested. It should tell you a little about the product so that if you have similar interests you'll be interested in it.

Applying those concepts to the 'pink ad' in question, I see silhouettes of naked girls and the words "Choke" with "By the maker of Fight Club"

...Not really interested in anything that has to use naked girls to garner interest. I'd rather see a plot, some entertainment, maybe a good story. If I wanted to watch porn or dirty movies/theatre.. well, I have the internet.

It was entertaining, a cute story, but by no means a brilliant film. It's funny, and there's a lot of sex, but I wouldn't say any more than your average comedy about something sexual. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who says they'll hate it, because if you think that from the ad, then you will. But if you watched the trailer and laughed, definitely check it out.

I thought the movie was pretty funny. Had a somewhat twisted plot line and the acting was really well done.

I actually found the movie to be complwtely below par that not even Angelica Houston could save it. It had its funny moments but even then they weren't so funny. More like 'Oh God why?"

I wouldn't recommend you see it, but since this is a free country I'll let you make that decision on your own.
