Clearly the journalist in question (not named) saw the image and felt compelled to use it for something.

Maybe I'm missing something. Just out of mild curiosity... how do you know that the journalist made up this story just to go with the picture?

Hamsters are not dangerous! When I was about 14 I gave my brothers a pair for Christmas, assured by the pet shop owner they were same gender. Alas...20 or so hamsters later...

Then, the next year I gave them a pair of gerbils from the same shop. Should have known better. I lost count at 70 gerbils.

Not dangerous, they just get everywhere! Ever wake up in the middle of the night with a gerbil on your neck?

You know when you're awakened in the middle of the night by a furry creature crawling onto your neck and you're really not sure if you want to wake up completely and find out if its really a gerbil?

I have "necked" with a Manx cat when I catsat many years ago. Damn thing insisted on sleeping on my neck the entire time I watched it.

My sister had a large lavender Siamese cat who would lay across your chest, 'kneading' your hair and sucking on an ear lobe.

First time I spent the night at her house, I woke up screaming rape, and got some nasty scratches as he fled in terror.
