Lost Recap: Stranger in a Strange Land
Lost Recap: Stranger in a Strange Land
"Stranger in a Strange Land" is a Jack-centric episode and after last week's mind blowing, time-traveling rollercoaster, it was definitely a change of pace. picked by vexingmodstwo 2 years ago

It was the worst episode of Lost I'd seen yet. What were the 3 questions that producers promised us would be answered?

1. Tattoos? (I never asked this question).
2. What happened to the kidnapped people? They are alive, but apparently incapable of answering questions.
3. ????????

This stupid writers crutch of characters avoiding answering questions that people want to know the answers to by having them say "it's complicated" or "it's not so simple" and then having them get interrupted or turn away is so annoying.

The backstory interruptions have become so annoying. They now feel like nothing more than filler, trying to spread a thin plotless story over as much time as possible. I think I'm done with Lost. I say that every week of Season 3, but I really think I am done now.

I liked it.

I think the third "answer" was that the others don't live on that satellite island.

Same here. I even went to the library after work yesterday specifically to have something else to do while my wife watched it, and still got sucked in.

I'm a little lost though since after the break because I did miss most of the last two episodes, but I simply don't care anymore. I know they aren't going to answer the majority of the questions, ever, so I'm just not expecting anything anymore. I do wonder, from last night, why Sawyer let the kid go. Wouldn't he be a wealth of information about the others, that the characters, and especially us, need??? Or is that the whole reason he let him go.

I will get this monkey off my back, this season.

But we already knew that, from the first episode of this season, where they showed the Others in their village and Ben sent Ethan and Goodman out to run to where the plane sections had landed.

Maybe the third answer was that Ethan was their doctor before Jack's group killed him. I have to wonder, then, why it was that Ben sent him out on a dangerous mission. If he's your only doctor, KEEP HIM SAFE!

I actually got caught up in other things and missed the first half of yesterday's episode, but I still feel like meh. I may go back and watch the rest online, but I may not. Count me as another who's dropping out.

Last weeks episode was nothing short of brilliant. This week was a huge disappointment in comparison.

I understand that the writers are trying to get a set number of episodes worked out, and I hold hope that when they do, this show will start progressing at an appropriate pace.

But yeah... Last night sucked.

I dunno, I liked seeing jack as a human in captivity...rather than the subhuman they treated him as before.

You mean, like Jack? Yea, have the only doctor on the freakin' island lead all the dangerous missions.

I'm sorry, but if I was a deserted island with all those people, and a doctor, the doctor wouldn't so much as collect firewood. He'd be our freak'n deity!

I'll lay odds one of the writers of Lost will get punched out in a bar by the end of the year.

BAR PATRON: "So, what do you do for a living?"
LOST WRITER: "I'm a writer. I write the series for a show called Lost, perchance you've hear"-
POW!
BAR PATRON: "Yea, I've heard of it, ya sorry SOB!!! What the **** was up with the four toed statue you threw at us over a year ago, you ******* **** ****!!!
CONTINUES BEATING THE LOST WRITER FOR ANSWERS FOR THE NEXT 3 HOURS. STRANGELY, NO OTHER PATRONS STEP IN TO HIS DEFENSE.

/wipes tear from eye.
What a pleasant little dream.
