This is not newsworthy. actually, I think it is newsworthy. If they are popular enough artists, that is.... If the Rolling Stones or Led Zepplin release a new song, would that not be newsworthy? (and no, I'm NOT comparing Weird Al to the Stones or Zepplin.)

Nope, I'm not special. I made a choice to post it here. Looks like a lot of people liked it as it has 400+ upvotes.
I, personally, rarely go to the video tab. I bet I'm not the only one.

I don't know that we should be too picky as to what gets posted where. If you don't like it...skip it. I'm not entirely sure if I can get behind the idea of new music being recorded only being deemed noteworthy if it's one artist or another...

Do you not know the problem with this?
Can you not see the link between what you did here and all the upvotes you got with this is what was being addressed here and here?
In the last seven days we have had an old and largely inactive member trying to return, not knowing about posting videos and getting downvoted without explanation.
We've had a new member's account kicked to -1 because they posted a video in news and it got downvoted.
And then you stroll up, not a care for anyone but yourself, admitting you don't give a s**t in the description and fly right in the face of all that with your post.
And then in a demonstration of the cronyism rampant here, because it's you and not someone that people don't know it does pick up all these votes.
And even ignoring that, then still your defence here falls flailing on the floor. If Led Zep released a new single the news would be that they were releasing it, not the video. I'd expect and you'd expect and everyone on Plime would expect that anything posted in the news section would link to an article about it. You know that full well so don't try and wriggle out of it like that.
And then finally you try and justify it by saying it's OK for you do this because you don't use the video tab. You have to know how ridiculous that sounds. You just have to.

We all agreed when Jax created the video section to post videos there and not here.
What happens now is that when new members come along and post videos because Jax hasn't closed off the autoembedding here then they get downvoted, their account gets deleted and they go elsewhere.
Icepigs does it and it's suddenly OK. It's even more of a slap in the face for someone who has had their video deleted.
