Maybe as I've gotten older I've become the hyper-sensitive and over-protective parent I didn't think I'd ever be...but if this is true then I won't be taking my 10 year old daughter to this. I can't even explain why, but it would just feel creepy.
Also, I gotta say that it doesn't really seem like something I would have expected them to do, in a major motion picture or not.
Is it just me???

kevin I understand what you are saying and even agree with you to some extent. I think they're doing this because the Simpsons have played out just about every other gag they could think of on TV... which is why I won't go to see this. I just don't think it will be that good (even from an adult perspective)

kevin I think their target is a little older than 10, as they seem to be targeted at the 17-35 year old market.
I think they have developed such a rep for being a shocker and pushing the boundaries that they feel the need to do the same on the big screen. Only now the boundaries are waaaaay out there. How do they come off as more shocking than the South Park movie?
One answer: This.
BTW: I kinda like the TV show, but I am not going to this. I expect it to be wall-to-wall crude-for-crude's-sake without much actual plot or humor.

What's odd is that this is even newsworthy.
Simpsons has always been a nice, family cartoon compared to shock humour seen in south park and the like. I don't think this counts as "shocking" by any means, but different things shock different people. Anyone who sees a naked 10 year cartoon character as "erotic" has some problems to begin with.
Nudity, cartoon or real, has never damaged anyone, no matter what age they were.

Makri, you are so right! I can't agree that the Simpsons has always been a family show, I have always seen it more as an adult show that kids could enjoy on a different level. My kids LOVE the show, as do I, and I will go to the movie. As far as Bart showing his naughty bits, I know the way those writers work, it will not be gratuitious.

The simpsons used to be great, for about 9 seasons. after Maude Died the show just went down hill and they have been relying on shock laughter.
