-The light is 40 times the power of a strong searchlight and has over 40 billion candle power.

Hmmmm, certainly a flashy stunt. Platform? I can't imagine how hot it must have been being so close to those lights for so long.

yeah, probably a platform. I'm sorry, but guys like this and his fellow magicians/illusionist bore me.
They're cool when you're 12 or so, but after that they are all just blah.
It is especially boring when they have to compensate with flashy gimmicks to make them seem better.
"Street magicians", "table magicians", etc, are more entertaining than something like this.
Of course that is just my opinion...

I'm searching for a candle power/ BTU conversion chart, but there must be focusing factors involved.
I admit it was a platform and selective photography but the result is still impressive.
( and probably about 1/8 th the actual candle power output )
