"24" Falls Victim to Writer's Strike Posted: 11 months ago by eljay
LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - As the writers strike entered its third day Wednesday with no end in sight, Fox said it would not air "24" this season. WHAT!??? NOOOOO! I love this show! I know a lot of people who are not going to be happy! I guess I will drive up to L.A. and walk with the writers!

I know this isn't like earth shattering, and it's "just" a TV show, but I am soooo hooked on this show! It is so intense. I am hooked on a lot of them, but this is the one you don't call me during. I am watching 24 don't bother me. I just hope they settle it soon.
The whole thing is about money..duh, the writer's do not get any money off of internet stuff, and they only get 4 cents on DVD sales, they want 8. Give it to them already.

here's a novel idea...
Keither is getting paid millions of dollars to act in the series. He is also now the executive producer which gives him another huge chunk of cash even more than the acting salary.
Plus 20th Century Fox Television will pay the overhead of Sutherland's brand-new TV production company as part of a two-year "development deal."
And they will pay his company a "development fund" to get them started.
He could pay his writers their money and wouldn't even notice the decrease in his salary...uh make that salaries
That does not take into account any extra money he makes thanks to the Jack Baur name, via video games and what not.
The character is a cash cow, movies, books and more could easily be made.
Yeah let Keifer stroke his writers a check

Yeah let Keifer stroke his writers a check He could probably do that but what writer will break the picket line? The writers arent striking to write TV and Movies they are striking for a higher percentage of DVD and Internet revenues. I think the studios are making a lot of money and not passing it onto the writers claiming something like "we don't know how much money we are making so we can't give you a percentage".

Yeah let Keifer stroke his writers a check Yeah that could work if he had writers that weren't part of the writers guild, but then if that were true, they wouldn't be on strike.

I'm the last person on Earth who has never watched this show. And I had such a crush on Keifer Sutherland when I was young (and so was he).

I have a copy of every season. Does the network think I will be watching something besides 24? They are wrong. I will still be watching it. Not some silly reality show.
