In this episode for some reason MLK is in the future... I forget why, but he gives a big ranting speech against BET culture... and apparently he likes canada. picked by gammerus 11 months ago

The episode is set in an alternate time-line where MLK went into a coma after being shot, rather than dying. He wakes up to find that the majority of the people he was fighting for misinterpreted his dream, triggering the speech.

Yay! You win a cookie!

I didn't realize being shot could trigger a coma.

It was described in a bit more detail in the show. It didn't seem as far fetched as my brief synopsis. But hey, thanks for the cookie!

I have to say, if MLK saw the world today and what all the work he did amounted to, I think that this comes quite close to what he would say.

um...no...

If he were alive to day, he would say "Really? I came back to life?"

Seriously, he would still be talking more about economic injustice rather than race issues (though the two are not unrelated)...it was when he turned from Civil Rights to the workers' plight that he became dangerous. In fact, if he had been allowed to live, these issues of African_American decadence 'might' not have come up...though I think it is an American issue, moreso than AfricanAmerican...

"Equality means dignity, and dignity demands a job and a paycheck that lasts through the week." MLKjr
