Dawkins to write another book Posted: 6 months ago by TheStep
Sold to Free Press for $3.5m, Richard Dawkins' latest book will be called Only A Theory?, which will provide empirical evidence for evolutionary theory and will also provide more conversation about evil atheists from the church.

I like Dawkins and I have a lot of respect for him as a scientist. I think his books are solid and well grounded in terms of their ability to offer evidence of evolution.

However, they do tend to be rather inflammatory towards anyone he does not agree with. There are many people who could benefit from reading an effective argumentation of evolution but who will never read any Dawkins because of his reputation as a virulent atheist.

It does get him attention though. Of the eight books he wrote before The God Delusion, only really The Blind Watchmaker and The Selfish Gene attracted attention.

Before he gained fame for his anti-religious stance, few people outside the scientific world knew the name Dawkins. Now he's part of popular culture.

Sure there are people who would be put off reading his works by his stance, but I'd be surprised if many of them would have read, or been swayed by it. As it is, I rather have the feeling that more people who will gain something from reading these books will read them as a result of his antagonistic stance than would have if he kept the opinions in check.
