I was referring to hollywood as a general collective that, at best, gives people the illusion that they are participating in a meaningful cultural dialog...all the while hampering that dialog from actually taking place...

I suppose, in a way, it is not too terribly different from the net, or plime for that matter, though with a much greater profit margin and drool factor.
