As for "rules", there are no "rules" on Plime only guidelines so as for you telling me to remove my downvote you can kiss my ass.
Really? haha you're funny

No, because Christianity is a lot like cancer
That was rude AND insulting.

He called Christians a*****es. Acceptable.
I called him an a*****e. Not acceptable.

Maybe that's because I have an IQ higher than 60.
Did he call you an a*****e personally?! No. Did you call him one?! Yes

Jesus Christ on ice skates, why all the hostility here?
It dosen't matter. I say, let people believe what they want to believe. I don't care if you're Atheist, Budhist, Hare Krishna or whatever. As long as you don't shove it in my face or try and convert me, I'm cool.
Oh, and this is clearly a blatant propaganda piece. Don't lie to me. "Hey all these really awesome people were Atheists, why aren't you?"
Gotcha. Brilliant ploy.

One of your previous comments on another post and yet you come in on these comments and start being personal to someone who has expressed an opinion on a group of people, not anyone personally.

Rude and insulting?! So expressing an opinion on a concept is rude?! Did I say Christians are like cancer?! No. I may be wrong but I don't think you can be rude to a concept :S

Saying Christianity is like cancer is rude and insulting. Saying you disagree with Christianity and you don't like what it breeds is not rude nor is it insulting.

Both are opinions, but one is rude and insulting. If I said Republicans are the scum of the earth that would be rude and insulting. If I said I don't like what Republicans stand for, I'm not being rude or insulting. See the difference?

See! That's what I'm talking about exactly! Expressing an opinion on a group of people is collectivism.

No. I expressed an opinion on a concept, I didn't call anyone scum nor was I abusive to anyone.

As for collectivism, you know a big word, so?

Your opinion was rude and insulting, and as per the "rules" I downvoted it. This whole argument is based upon the fact that you're down-voting me for the exact reasons it says NOT to.

Secondly, I keep bring up collectivism because you're being a hypocrite in respect to it. Yes it's a big word, and I'm sorry that you're having trouble understanding it.

If you're a collectivist based on race or religion, you're just as bad as a collectivist based on wealth or culture. Therefore, hating someone of a different color just for being that different color is just as bad as hating someone of a different religion just because they subscribe to that religion. If you don't see that, then I really don't know what else I can say to you except to point out to everyone else the hypocrisy in your statements.

Yes you're right and I'm wrong, it was rude of me to say that Christianity was like cancer and yes that makes me as bad as a racist. /sarcasm

I just realized you are one of those people in life that try and make others waste their time and energy on useless arguments just because it makes them feel more important.

I concur to your superior attitude and obvious intellect and I'm also going to upvote all your comments as I'm pissed off with myself that I've let myself get dragged into this by a small-minded individual like yourself.

Downvoting all comments of a low level member in a thread where you just happen to disagree, is excessive.
Going back and downvoting comments of theirs from 8 months ago is complete bulls**t.

Ok mate, So if I go back through comments and strongly disagree with them I can't downvote? Ok got it. Also if ya noticed I also upvoted a load.

Plus what's the big hoo ha with downvotes? Feel free to downvote me to a level where I can participate, post and comment, as far as I'm concerned I don't give a rats ass what numbers next to my name as long as I can participate.

I don't come on Plime to see how many little numbers I can get I come on here to participate and be entertained.

What's bulls**t is you getting wound up over a few downvotes.

You downvoted a low level member to a zero...the user could no longer participate. I had to go through the members history... and upvoted them to a one.

First I didn't realize I'd downvoted them to Zero, you telling me was news to me, secondly what exactly is the voting system here for?

The person you are talking about I don't feel deserves any upvotes what-so-ever because of how they spoke and were rude to a long-standing and in my eyes valued member of Plime (tdiggity)

I don't have a problem with you Hoosker, I think you're a good guy, but it's times like these I wonder whether sometimes people lose sight of the fact that Plime is a democracy, a wiki site. You didn't have to go back through the members history and upvote them, you chose to, as I chose to downvote them, you make it sound likes it's your job.

If I feel I want to downvote someones comments I will, I really fail to see what it has to do with you and why I feel like I've been a naughty boy and I'm getting told off by daddy.

Theres life outside Plime.

You might as well be saying one with the other. I'm sure you would mean the same either way. It's just that with one you can pretend to be "nice" and politically correct.

I'm with the smart people here(mersh, hoosker). I've learned through life to live and let live. We can't have a real community unless we care about one another like brothers and sisters! This is not a perfect world..or, website. If we respect each other we can be the best web site.

« Sencerd : The key point in this argument is as follows:

Really? And who decided this? you?

As I have stated before, why is it wrong to insult gay people because they're gay, it's wrong to insult someone of a different color because they're that color, it's wrong to insult an atheist because they don't believe in God, it's wrong to insult a buddhist because of their beliefs, it's wrong to insult a Mexican because they speak spanish, but it's perfectly okay to insult Christians because they're Christian?

As I have stated earlier (before that ridiculous argument over down-voting) it is hypocrisy at its finest. I don't understand how only a few of you see this. I in no way support the hatred of anyone, or the mocking of anyone, because they choose to believe something. That includes Christians, and it's why I'm so passionate about it.

Man, I hope that's sarcasm.

Here's my beef with this whole episode. Every group has to have another group to look down upon, one that they can mock openly based on stereotypical behavior, no less- and feel superior to. This is the "collectivism" that was referred to earlier upthread, and - He's dead on.

Racism seems to have taken on a life of its own, but at it's heart is a belief that certain groups are inferior, and they are a threat, for whatever reason. Mostly because they have influence and acceptance that you'd rather they didn't, because in your mind, they are inferior- Stupid, uncouth, untrustworthy- Pick your poison. You take the worst of that groups characteristics and paint it as the standard. So, in this case you could replace the word "racism" with "religionism" or some such word, but the behavior is the same.

To avoid this, you have to force yourself to ignore the stereotypes and the worst they have to offer, and find commonality. Take them as you find them, do not judge based on collectivism, but as they present themselves.

Until you can do that, you're no better than a "racist".

It's sad to see that a little gentle ribbing at Christianity gets taken so deeply to heart. If your deepest beliefs of faith are so easily shaken by a few posts on the Internet; than might I suggest you get a life.

Of course no one's out to fight for the Muslims when the EXACT same thing that some of you are complaining about happens to them in the media! Not every muslim is an Osama Bin Laden, and not every Christian is a Jerry Falwell or a Pat Robertson. We make fun of the examples most prominent in our society, it's what we do. If you don't want to be grouped in with the rest, than don't be.

That being said, a tongue in cheek satirical video mocking Christianity is where you Christians choose to take a stand? Get real.
