Durham calls them on the phone and gives them the chance to do the right thing. Of course, those calls are never met with anything but yelling. Then he goes into their life, finds out what kind of assets they have and makes their lives miserable -- foreclose on their house, repossess their car. He will squeeze them until the women get paid.

Having helped raise two children of a dad that pays when he HAS to, I think this show is a great idea, with one caveat: reality TV isn't going away, so we might as well see it used for good, rather than watching a bunch of entitled women whine about their lives, or some socially inept millionaires pick the "perfect woman"

The idea behind the show could be ok, not something I'd watch, however I think the one caveat should be a positive paternity test, or official adoption records.
I know if I wasn't the father of a kid, and someone came after me, making my life miserable to pay for someone else's kid, I'd get pretty irate. (Taxes to pay for welfare excluded, I guess...)

The only reason people will watch this show will be for a car-crash style blow-by-blow of a man getting destroyed and the sick pleasure that brings.
This one belongs on the bonfire with all the other dating/"I want to marry a rich goat" style shows.

Alright, what about the MOTHERS who owe?
I am soon to get a 'Letter' from Child Support telling me that my ex owes me over $2400 in funds that they collected from me wrongly. She committed fraud, she lied, and now I get a 'Letter' saying that she owes me.
She's not going to pay me, I have to take her to court to get it back.
Curious about what they did to me when they THOUGHT I owed her?
I had bank accounts frozen.
I had my dividends stolen from me for Years.
I had threats of my passport, my ability to work, everything taken away.
I was told that deliquent parents could go to Jail.. which never occured, but only because I finally proved that she was lying before it got that far.
Great job DURHAM, you're going after Deadbeats. Can I turn you towards people like my Ex who is causing fraud in the system that they refuse to do anything about?

You should call the producers. I think they'd love a great angle like that.

My ex kept 5000.00 that I overpaid him, due to an error in child support. He is a cop and pocketed that WILLINGLY every single month.
(when we divorced, I deferred him paying me alimony in exchange for me not paying support for two yrs, they cancelled each other out)
However, on the day of the divorce, he asked for 100.00 every two wks, or 200.00 a month to go towards my youngests preschool costs.
I agreed. Don't know many men who would say, "SURE!! rather than not pay anything for two yrs, let me pay you 200.00 during that time!"
But I DID, because it was going towards my child and for her benefit.
Fast forward two yrs and my order kicks in at 559.00 a month AND they tacked on the 200.00 I was paying on top of it. (It was supposed to fall off when the two yrs was up!)
I was paying almost 800.00 a month on an income of 15.79 hr. Still have rent, car, utilities to pay on top of it.
So, I work extra on squad to the tune of 80 hrs a week or so to make ends meet.
Couldn't ask for a review of CS for TWO yrs. He pocketed that for TWO YRS. Even took his mistress to Hawaii with the kids and got married. I probably funded that one.
Two yrs up and I file for review. They "have never seen two orders like that before and cannot undo it" AND IT was THEIR error!!
I had to hire an atty and the courts admitted they made a huge mistake. Instead of giving me a vacation from payments for a yr or so...they reduced my amt I pay by 100.00 for 20 months and I do not have to pay towards my sons braces, as that was deducted as well.
But no one gave a s**t about him keeping the money or the hardship it put ME thru.
I never ever have told my kids, I am not buying you this or taking you there, that is what I pay support for. I continue to bust my ass and work for things they want or need despite of what I pay.
Shows like this make me sick.

Oh, I'm not even a little confused. As I said in my comment above, reality TV is apparently here to stay, no matter how exploitative or opportunistic. That being the case, why not let this trash TV serve a good purpose?

That being the case, why not let this trash TV serve a good purpose? Being on the paying end, (and was also on the recieving end as well before) I feel I got some skin in this fight.
Oh, what an AMAZING twist it would be, if I suffered some catastrophic injury or illness or lost my job.
I wouldn't be able to pay or pay as much as I was supposed to.
The courts don't care if you are down on your luck. And I am not saying there are not some deadbeat dad's out there as well.
But when I was paying my 760.00 a month, I had about that much left per month to pay 500.00 rent and a 300.00 car payment. I didn't even put food in my house, pay my bills or my car insurance.
So, I had to work a second job to survive. And guess what? That takes MORE time away from my family.
I FEAR getting sick or hurt. In fact, I may need knee surgery and I cannot afford to lose time from work for that.
I have also seen, as a paramedic, women who DO collect that money put none of it towards the kids. (Clothes, medicine, things kids want to do, sports, hobbies, etc)
Back when I was divorced in 1990, I was not even allowed to KEEP my child support, since I worked for min wage at the animal hospital and was on welfare. Welfare took my 200.00 a month. (They let people keep it now)
But I did decide I was going to be in charge of MY income and my life. I got my grants and went to medic school. Food stamps, insurance for the kids, the whole deal.
I TRULY TRULY feel that receipts should be provided as to where the money goes. I make more, I pay more.
The system needs to be revamped and the people who cash the checks need to be accountable as well.
