Country music star Dolly Parton has hit back against Howard Stern's satellite radio show, which last week manipulated recordings from one of her audio books into seemingly racist and sexually graphic sound bites.

Dolly is just genuinely a nice person. Why would anyone think this was funny? How do you punish someone who doesn't care, though?

I agree. What a crass thing to do to her.

I don't understand the issue, please enlighten me.

Is she concerned that people will beleive these poorly constructed sound bytes are real?

The fact that she is such a nice and "innocent" person is what makes this funny. Not that I've heard these, but it's like when you have a grandma that never curses drop an f-bomb... It's hilarious.

For the most part, I don't much care for Stern, but sometimes he makes me laugh. More often than not he's just an a*****e, though.

By the way, I disagree with you on this point, lark:

« larknet : Dolly would think this was funny
Clearly she did not think this was funny.

Dolly has been suffering from what I like to refer to as "A.D.D. Frequentia", which is, according to hooskers onplime dictionary; The direct emotional suffering resulting from the absence of a substantial amount of the population paying any attention to you..

She has it no more...

praise God!

Yeah right...I guarantee any concert she appears at would be packed. She's a cultural icon.

She had a song #1 on the country charts two years ago, and just finished a tour in Europe, where she's also very popular.
