CARRIE DASHOW dropped a large dollop of lemon sorbet into a glass of Guinness, stirred, drank and proclaimed that it tasted like a “chocolate shake.” picked by DerAlt 5 months ago

Coolest berry ever, really makes me want to try it, but $90 for 30 berries is a tad steep for me. I wonder, the article says it makes tequila taste like lemon aid, would that mean it wouldn't have an alcohol taste, cause that would make it easier to drink till your smashed.

I'm intrigued by these. Reports differ as to whether they are difficult or easy to grow.

One site I found suggested that it's impossible to grow the berries outside of Florida, but that would mean they wouldn't have done so well in their native Africa.

If I find a source of seeds and get any results, rest assured I shall let you know.

The site linked in the article says they sell seeds for a dollar.

I wonder if you could grow them inside.

If you click on the buy link the price changes to $2 each + $30 postage. And I think that would go up to ship them overseas.

Whether they'd grow inside depends a lot where the outside is.

I don't think I'd have much success here (the UK) but I have a polytunnel in which olives and lemons are growing with some success so I might be in with a chance.

I have been looking into it a little bit as I am intrigued. The chances of germination are pretty low, so these seedlings might bet a better option.

If there's still interest from the public in the 2-3 years it takes to get a crop I'm sure that would be recoverable.

Assuming the extract hasn't been incorporated into a soft drink or something by then.

Looking on eBay, and you can buy tablet version of them, I might do it, not that expensive, about 12 dollars for a pack of 10.
