There's a time in everyone's life when a TV show about a stone monkey god who flies around on a cloud and kicks the ass of demons with a staff that fits in his ear but grows bigger than a telegraph pole is the perfect thing.
Oh, and he hangs out with a sex and food obsessed man-pig, a humble fish demon who eats humans, both of whom are really disgraced officers in the armies of heaven, a talking horse who is really a dragon and never actually says that much and a boy priest who is really a hot bald woman, but no-one mentions it.

In the worlds before Monkey, primal chaos reigned. Heavens sought order. But the phoenix can fly only when its feathers are grown. The four worlds formed again and yet again, as endless aeons wheeled and passed. Time and the pure essences of Heaven, the moisture of the Earth, the powers of the Sun and the Moon all worked upon a certain rock, old as creation. And it became magically fertile.
