I beg to differ with both of you
Ghost and Goblins for the NES is the hardest game ever, I have never heard of anyone beating it, I cheated my way through the game on an emulator (and it was still nearly impossible) when I finally beat the last boss, I was forced back to the beginning to find a key or something....that was after hours and hours of playing using saves. On a Nintendo you would have to play through the game in one sitting, and this would be a guaranteed long sitting.....

NOoo way, impossible!!!!!! how do you get past the bike riding part? That game was soo much fun until you get up to that point, and then it was just to hard for humans. Score: [-] 13 [+]. Its pretty difficult, but its only the beginning...the snake levels insane, and the one where you race the rat is bloody hard.
Basically, me and a buddy spent a year in residence playing that game. We are talking 3-4 hours a day, on the glorious day that we beat it he had actually left on a date with his girlfriend, leaving me to go it alone. I actually made it to the top of the dark tower, but I only had like 3 lives left. I knew he still had one continue left so I phoned him up and he was over in about 10 mins to join in and we beat the s**t out of her.

I could easily slap together a hack of Mario that would be more or less humanly impossible. A game needs to be fun to make it worth playing.
