a spokesman said no-one in the licensing department knew about the ban.
I lived in Aberystwyth for 7 years and I didn't know about the ban either.

I'm fairly certain that I watched LOB while I was there but it would have been on video so it probably didn't count.

Ah-bur-ust-wuth

Here's a joke for you.

There's two tourists driving through Wales and they're on their way to the village of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch when an argument breaks out.

One maintains that it is pronounced Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, whereas the other says it should be Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch*.

This gets quite heated for a time but they eventually resolve that as neither of the knows for certain they should ask a local.

When they arrive the first thing they do is go for lunch, and as they're waiting for their food one of them asks the person serving if she can help settle their argument by pronouncing where they are very slowly.

Looking at them with much disdain she says:

"Burrr-gurrr Kiiing."

*Clearly this part of the joke works better if you're saying it out loud.

I can understand the whole "Hey, look, it's our mayor! And she's not wearing any clothing!!" part of the ban, but otherwise, it's useless.

What?

She's trying to lift the ban, which implemented 30 years go because the film mocked religion...Nothing to do with her eventual mayoral posting...
