It appears a deal is in place to create a third Ghostbusters movie. Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsk of The Office will be writing the script and they will be using the original cast.

This is good, because they f**king cancelled the video game. And they owe me. Ive been sitting around waiting for this since I was born.
Lets get cracking.
Im willing to bet Murray wont come back through, he swore of GB. Rick Moranis can be convinced to return.
Akryod is just sitting around waiting for this, and Ernie Hudson would snatch this up to do something that isnt a crime drama. Harold Ramis is amazing, much fatter, but still simply amazing. Getting Weaver to return may be tricky, and a solid AND I MEAN f**kING SOLID script will be needed, they need to get fans input on it. It will be so important. Im not even sure Annie Potts is still alive.

But I agree about the drag on of old series. But this isnt like there has been a new film every 5 or 10 years. This has been a long, and much awaited film.

I've been reading some stuff about bringing this movie back...however one news source did mention that the movie wouldn't be based on our 3 loveable guy's. Instead they would be more...mentors...
