Take that, Tina: Palin wants to spoof her spoofer
Take that, Tina: Palin wants to spoof her spoofer
It's looking more and more likely that Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin will appear on ''Saturday Night Live'' -- to have some fun with Tina Fey.

Am I the only one on the planet who thinks that Tina Fey is one of the least funny people on it?... the planet that is.

No, I'm not... I've asked around.

I don't recall ever thinking Tina Fey was funny... couldn't stand her as a guest appearing writer... positively fumed when she was a Weekend Update anchor... and did a little jig when she left the show!

I almost think I would prefer Molly Shannon to Fey... but that's a really tough call.

Haha, seriously? Tina Fey was my favorite person on SNL.

I don't watch it anymore, particularly because she doesn't do anything anymore. Weekend Update was awesome with her, now it sucks.

That would be killer if she went on the show! Our politicians here participate in satirical shows like this quite often, and I love it! I have respect for people who can laugh at themselves.

Chinook's right. It's a tactical move. People tend to vote more for people that laugh at themselves.

It could go fatally wrong, however. If she looked stiff and staged, the vote count will go the other way.

Except that Shannon was hired as a performer for the show, whereas Fey was hired as a writer, became one of the few ever "head writers," then started performing. Very different roles. Fey can get annoying, though, I'll admit.

<edit> Also, can we declare a moratorium on the words "spoof," and "skit," while we're at it? "Parody," or "send-up" and "sketch" work so well, and nobody in comedy really uses the former. Does anybody care? Probably not. </edit>
