8 Hour Superman Epic Posted: 1 year ago by punthe
Mark Millar wants to create an epic 8-hour screen story which will follow the entire life of Kal-El from his birth on Krypton a thousand years ago, until he is the last being left on Earth. Apparently, Millar has been talking with an unnamed "big Hollywood action director" about what he calls his "Magnum Opus" which he would plan to release as three separate films.

Just pray his "Big Hollywood Action Director" isn't Uwe Boll.

oh hell no.

Superman has been over done and over done and over done again and again.

Try something fresh and exciting.

Watchmen

Did you read the graphic novel? I think should be good. And it's relevant. More relevant than that patsy Superman.

Edit: thanks to whoever fixed the link. It has been far too long since I've posted on Plime.

I know it's an iconic image and that the attempt to change it failed miserably (case in point bellow)

but for God's sake... the guy still wears his underpants on the outside!!!

Seriously - enough already. Superman doesn't work IRL (movies, that is), it always looks silly.
Plus, if you think of the amount of power he has and how he still hasn't worked out every problem we have on Earth, it's far fetched to say the least.
Perhaps Alex Ross and Paul Dini's take on that (Peace on Earth) can make us think about that very 'flaw' in the whole concept of the existence of someone as powerful as he's supposed to be, but... still.

The underpants, man...!

Can't have too much Superman for me. If it's done well, I'm all for it.

1000 year old Superman?

I know he's powerful, but eternal?

Nope. Not buying it.
