I've decided that I need to play music for the life I've been incubating. Trouble is, my fiance and I are having trouble deciding what Blobface should listen to. I think we should stay a little mellow, I rather not have the thing head-banging or moshing in there. He thinks we should just play our favorites, including Ozzy Osbourne's "Iron Man". We're both against anything by Raffi or the Wiggles.

Tell me the top five songs you'd want your spawn to listen to first.

Mine:
1) "Since I've Been Loving You" - Led Zeppelin
2) "Gravity Rides Everything" - Modest Mouse
3) "I Summon You" - Spoon
4) "High and Dry" - Radiohead
5) "A Satisfied Mind" - Johnny Cash

My kids all love the Dropkick Murphy's and anything rockabilly, not to hard core but a nice even beat. That and it's punk rock can't go wrong.

Before Maddison was Maddison and was known as Lumpy she used to dance to this:

<a href='http://www.plime.com/redir.p?http://youtube.com/watch?v=aUUGblNjK20' class='plime' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'><b>flash video</b></a>

Now she is Maddison she still does.

I recommend whatever music makes you happy. Nobody can prove it, but I bet the emotional response of a fetus could quite possibly be tied to your own.

A very fine list, but I'd go classical.

I'd suggest Vivaldi's Four Seasons.

EDIT: OMG, davbob, I didn't know there were words to that music. I thought it was a jingle for Six Flags commercials. Now I can't get that guy out of my head.

Here, suffer along.

Maddison is learning well I play The Dropkicks in the car and she seems to enjoy it, as far as I can tell.

We constantly have music playing we hardly ever watch TV so when I'm online I have every song on my PC on random, makes for some very interesting listening.

I do believe that music can have an effect on unborn kiddlies but I don't thinkl the type of music matters.

Video for #7 because people don't believe it is real:

I could probably come up with a daily list for the entire term if you want without too much effort.

Good song, but I'm not sure this is the message I want to send before it's even out of the womb. I'll plug in a little Tenacious D around it's 1st birthday.

I have these 2 on a CD called Saturday Morning Cartoons, along with a bunch of other cool cartoon covers including Matthew Sweet doing "Scooby Doobie Doo" and the Butt Hole Surfers doing "Underdog" and the Ramones covering "Spiderman"

the whole CD rocks.
