I have been through quite a few big earthquakes. They are frightening. Those videos are awful. I watched one and half of another. I couldn't take it. So awful.

So scary! I wonder how this will affect their construction for the Olympics? So much damage, and no reports I have heard spoke of insurance. I can't imagine anything more powerful than the Northridge quake. This was horrific, lasting so long, and then the aftershocks do NOT help!
We have a friend who is married to a Chinese woman, and they were of course visiting her family this month. Thankfully, they were able to contact his employer and report that they are safe!
But so many are NOT safe. It's unfathomable, the number of suddenly homeless, unemployed, lost, injured and frightened. Yikes!
