Technically, this isn't HTML (Hypertext Markup Language). It's BBCode (Bulletin Board Code), a type of code - usually employed on forums - that is parsed by the message board to produce HTML effects. It's easy to tell the difference: BBCode uses square brackets for its tags, HTML uses the < and > signs.

Anyway, there's also the hyperlink BBCode (replace curly brackets with square ones):
(url="http://u2019.blogspot.com")link text(/url)
The result: link text
Just change the HTTP link and the link text to suit your needs. (Apologies for semi-splogging)

For images (replace brackets with the square brackets):
(image)http://www.plime.com/common/templates/css-image/0/50/logo.gif(/image)
